Rum Cocktails
Last thursday evening I experienced for the first time, the joys of Rum Cocktails. I was privelleged enough to be taken to a cool little cocktail bar in town named Elysium where I hear they make a lot of them!
The Rum Cocktails I drank were an old classic, the Mojito! I had heard the name many times before but never consumed one of these refreshing rum drinks.
It involved lots of crushed ice, lime, mint, a few spoon fulls of sugar (helps the medicine go down? Perhaps Marry Poppins was right on the money!) and of course a good spash or two of RUM with a bit of soda water thrown in for good measure, wow was it good!
However, unlike Jude Law’s experience, who is also a big fan of rum cockatils it seems, I saw no sign of Frank Sinatara stealing from the mini bar! Perhaps next week!?
I enjoyed my Mojitos so much I that I was going try some different rum cocktails each week, put the recipes online, write reviews (and any other related thoughts on the matter) and leave it open for you, the readers, to comment on similar rum cocktails, your own experiences or what you consider the best way to make rum cocktails!
